What each text means
Every text comes from +1 (864) 651-1769 and starts with "LoadoutGuard:". The examples below are word for word what we send, with example trucks and tools. Save the number as LoadoutGuard so crews know it's us.
Short answers work best: one word or number from the text, by itself. Capitals don't matter, and a thumbs-up counts as OK.
When a tool gets left behind
The texts a crew lead is most likely to see, from the moment the truck pulls away until the tool is back on board.
Left behind
LoadoutGuard: Looks like Surface Cleaner #SC-12 got left at Woodruff Commons. Wash Rig 2 pulled out at 10:42 PM. Map: https://osm.org/go/ZSNqyT6Rf--?m Reply 1 if you're going back, or tell me what happened.
- Who gets it
- The truck's crew lead, about 2 minutes after the truck pulls away (the wait is in Settings → Alert rules). A crew lead who chose the app gets a notification first and this text 2 minutes later if they haven't opened it. Managers who chose texts for left-behind alerts, and owners who chose every alert, get it too.
- What it means
- A portable tool was on the truck when it got to this stop and wasn't heard as it left. One text covers every tool left at that stop. The map link shows where the truck was parked.
- How to reply
- 1You're going back for it. The alert shows as acknowledged, and if the tool still isn't aboard about 40 minutes later you'll get a follow-up.
- Or in wordsSay what happened in a few words, in English or Spanish: "going back, 10 min", "left it on purpose, back Thursday", "Mike's crew has it", or "not ours". The reply is read and the alert updated to match, and your managers see your words.
Did you get it?
LoadoutGuard: Surface Cleaner #SC-12 still isn't back on Wash Rig 2. Did you get it? Reply 1 if it's aboard, or tell me what's up.
- Who gets it
- A crew lead who said they'd go back, when the tool still isn't aboard 10 minutes after the time they gave (about 40 minutes if they didn't give one).
- What it means
- The truck's unit still hasn't heard the tool. If you have it, check it's actually on the truck: the alert closes by itself once the unit hears it.
- How to reply
- 1You have it. The alert closes as recovered once the unit hears the tool aboard; if it still doesn't, you'll be asked again in about 40 minutes.
- Or in wordsTell us what's going on, as with the first text.
Back on the truck
LoadoutGuard: Surface Cleaner #SC-12 is back on Wash Rig 2. 10:51 PM.
- Who gets it
- The crew lead (a notification only, if they chose the app), and managers who chose texts for recovered equipment.
- What it means
- The truck's unit heard the tool aboard again, so the alert is closed. Only the unit can close it this way: a reply never marks a tool as recovered. If other tools from the same stop are still missing, the text names them.
- How to reply
- No reply needed.
Picked up by another truck
LoadoutGuard: Good news, Wash Rig 3 just picked up Surface Cleaner #SC-12 at Woodruff Commons.
- Who gets it
- The crew lead whose truck left the tool.
- What it means
- Another of your trucks heard the tool aboard, so it's no longer left behind and its alert is closed.
- How to reply
- No reply needed.
Before the truck leaves the yard
Questions from Tally, the assistant (you can rename it in Settings → Assistant). Each one can be switched off there. Crew leads only get them during their shift, and there's a daily limit.
Morning check
LoadoutGuard: Morning check for Wash Rig 2: 12 of 13 aboard. Missing Surface Cleaner #SC-12, last heard in the yard at 6:41 AM. Reply OK if you're leaving it. - Tally
- Who gets it
- The crew lead, at the crew's loadout time (set in Settings → Crews) on working days, while the truck is in the yard. Only when something on the truck's list isn't aboard.
- What it means
- The unit doesn't hear that tool on the truck. When only one tool is missing, the text says where it was last heard.
- How to reply
- OKYou're leaving it today on purpose. You won't be asked about it again today.
Left the yard short
LoadoutGuard: Wash Rig 2 just left the yard with 1 surface cleaner. You usually take 2 on Tuesdays. Surface Cleaner #SC-14 was last heard in the yard at 6:52 AM. Reply OK if that's on purpose. - Tally
- Who gets it
- The crew lead, when the truck leaves the yard with fewer of a kind of tool than it usually takes on that day of the week. At most once a day per truck. Managers get a notification.
- What it means
- Tally learns what each truck usually takes from its last few weeks of departures. This is a question, not an alert: if you don't answer, nothing else happens.
- How to reply
- OKIt's on purpose. Nothing more about it today.
- 1You're going back. It becomes a left-behind alert at the yard, with a follow-up if the tool isn't aboard later.
Left the yard without something
LoadoutGuard: Wash Rig 2 just left the yard without Surface Cleaner #SC-12 (last heard in the yard at 6:52 AM). Reply OK if that's on purpose, or 1 if you're going back. - Tally
- Who gets it
- The crew lead, the same way, naming the tools that usually ride on the truck (or, for a new truck, that are on its list).
- What it means
- The same question as above, by name instead of by count.
- How to reply
- OKIt's on purpose. Nothing more about it today.
- 1You're going back. It becomes a left-behind alert at the yard, with a follow-up if the tool isn't aboard later.
On another truck
LoadoutGuard: Surface Cleaner #SC-12 isn't on Wash Rig 2 today, it's riding on Wash Rig 3. Reply OK if that's the plan. - Tally
- Who gets it
- The crew lead of the truck the tool is listed on, while that truck is out working.
- What it means
- Another of your trucks has been carrying the tool today. Nothing is moved: managers decide which truck a tool belongs on.
- How to reply
- OKThat's the plan. Noted.
About the truck's unit and tags
Texts about the hardware. Most go to managers; the crew lead only hears about the plug.
Unit unplugged
LoadoutGuard: Wash Rig 2's LoadoutGuard unit lost truck power at 12:40 PM and is running on its battery. Can you check the plug? Reply OK when it's back in.
- Who gets it
- The crew lead, when the unit loses truck power while the truck is out on the road (not in the yard). It waits for the crew's shift. Managers get a notification. You can switch it off in Settings → Assistant.
- What it means
- The unit is running on its own battery. Plug it back into a socket that stays on with the engine off.
- How to reply
- OKYou've plugged it back in. The unit reports when it has truck power again.
Unit not reporting
LoadoutGuard: I've lost touch with Wash Rig 2's unit since 12:44 PM, so I can't check its tools. If the truck is running, check that the unit is plugged in.
- Who gets it
- Managers and admins who chose texts for an offline unit, and owners who chose every alert. Sent when the unit has been silent for 10 minutes (Settings → Alert rules). Not the crew lead.
- What it means
- Until the unit is back, its truck's tools show when they were last checked, and no left-behind alerts can come from that truck. See Troubleshooting for what to check.
- How to reply
- OKOptional. Noted; it keeps listening for the unit.
Tag came off
LoadoutGuard: The tag on Surface Cleaner #SC-12 just came off (Wash Rig 2, 3:10 PM). If you moved it on purpose, reply OK. If not, check the surface cleaner.
- Who gets it
- Managers and admins who chose texts for tags, and owners who chose every alert. Not the crew lead.
- What it means
- The tag reported it was removed from the tool. If nobody moved it on purpose, check the tool.
- How to reply
- OKSomeone moved it on purpose. The alert closes.
For managers and owners
Texts that need a decision. Each person chooses which ones they get, and their quiet hours, in Settings → Notifications. Owners choose there between every alert, escalations only (the default), summaries only, or no texts.
No reply from the crew
LoadoutGuard: No reply from Tina Nguyen in 10 min. Surface Cleaner #SC-12 left at Woodruff Commons; Wash Rig 2 pulled out at 10:42 PM. Map: https://osm.org/go/ZSNqyT6Rf--?m
- Who gets it
- Managers (while "Text managers when the crew lead doesn't answer" is on in Alert rules) and owners who get escalations, when the crew lead hasn't answered a left-behind text in 10 minutes. If the crew lead couldn't be texted at all, you get the left-behind text itself straight away.
- What it means
- Nobody on the truck has said they're dealing with it.
- How to reply
- 1You're handling it (OK or YES work too). The alert shows as acknowledged.
- DONEIt's settled. The alert is marked handled and closes.
- Or in wordsWrite what's happening in a few words; it goes on the alert.
Still out
LoadoutGuard: Surface Cleaner #SC-12 is still out at Woodruff Commons since 10:42 PM. Reply DONE if it's handled, or LATER and I'll ask again tomorrow.
- Who gets it
- Managers and owners, when a crew said they left a tool on purpose until a certain time and it still isn't back.
- What it means
- The time the crew gave has passed and no truck has heard the tool.
- How to reply
- DONEIt's handled. The alert is marked handled and closes.
- LATERAsk again tomorrow (TOMORROW works too).
Riding on another truck
LoadoutGuard: Surface Cleaner #SC-12 is riding on Wash Rig 3 today, but it's listed on Wash Rig 2. Reply MOVE to make Wash Rig 3 its home, TODAY if it's a one-day swap, or LEAVE. - Tally
- Who gets it
- Managers and admins who chose texts for left-behind alerts, when a tool rides on a truck other than the one it's listed on.
- What it means
- Nothing changes unless you say so: Tally never moves a tool to another truck's list on its own.
- How to reply
- MOVEThe tool goes on the other truck's list from now on.
- TODAYA one-day swap. No more about it unless it's still off its truck tomorrow.
- LEAVEIt stays on its own truck's list.
Change a tool's truck?
LoadoutGuard: Surface Cleaner #SC-12 has ridden on Wash Rig 3 for 5 days, but it's listed on Wash Rig 2. Reply MOVE to make Wash Rig 3 its home, or LEAVE to keep it on Wash Rig 2. - Tally
- Who gets it
- Managers, once, when a tool has ridden on another truck on 5 days within a week and nobody answered.
- What it means
- The tool seems to live on another truck now.
- How to reply
- MOVEThe tool goes on the other truck's list.
- LEAVEIt stays where it's listed.
While you were off

- Who gets it
- Managers and owners, at the end of their quiet hours (8 PM to 6 AM unless they change it).
- What it means
- Anything that could wait, in one text. A tool left behind still reaches you during quiet hours if nobody else could be reached.
- How to reply
- No reply needed.
After hours
Only for companies that turned on after-hours mode, and never in its first week, while it learns your trucks' normal nights. The truck's crew lead is asked first; the owners hear only if the answer is no, nobody answers, or the truck is moving far and fast. See After-hours mode for the details.
Is the truck moving with you?
LoadoutGuard: Is Wash Rig 2 moving with you? Reply YES or NO. - Tally
- Who gets it
- The truck's crew lead, when the parked truck starts moving during after hours.
- What it means
- The truck moved when it normally sits still.
- How to reply
- YESIt's you or someone you know. Nobody else is told, and you won't be asked about that truck again tonight.
- NOIt isn't. The owners are told straight away, and the truck keeps being watched.

Words that work any time
- WHERESends the place and map link again for the alert you were texted about.
- QUIETNo questions from Tally for 7 days (morning checks, leaving the yard short, other trucks). You still get a text if a tool is left behind.
- A questionCrew leads, managers, and owners can text a question like "where's the blower?" and get an answer from what the trucks last heard. Changes, like moving a tool to another truck, are made in the app.
Texts can't mark a tool as found. Only a truck's unit hearing it aboard does that, so a recovered alert always means the tool is really on a truck.
Not getting texts you expect? Check Troubleshooting. Managers and owners choose their texts in Settings → Notifications.
