After-hours mode
After-hours mode keeps an eye on parked trucks overnight and on days off. It's built to stay quiet unless something is really off: it learns your trucks' normal nights first, and it asks the truck's crew lead "Is that you?" before it wakes anyone.
What it watches
- A parked truck that starts moving.
- Tools that stop answering while the truck sits still.
- A tag pulled off a tool.
- The truck's unit being unplugged.
It says what it saw and asks. It never says a truck or a tool was stolen, and no tracking system can promise to prevent theft or get things back.
Turning it on
Step 1: Switch it on
Owners and admins turn it on in Settings → After hours. Managers can see the settings, and mark what was normal, but not change them.Step 2: Let it learn for a week
For the first 7 days nothing is sent. The page lists what it would have flagged, and you can mark anything that was normal. When the week is up it arms by itself, or you can arm it sooner or keep it learning another week.Step 3: Choose the hours
"Use our crews' hours" (recommended) watches from 8 PM until an hour before each crew's loadout time, all day on days a truck doesn't go out, and never during a night crew's shift. Or set the hours yourself, day by day.Step 4: Choose who gets woken up
Owners, admins, and managers you pick. They're woken only when the crew lead says it wasn't them, nobody answers within the wait you set (1 to 30 minutes), or what it sees is clear on its own.
Turning it off and on again starts a new learning week. Check more often while armed makes the units report more often after hours, which uses more cellular data.
What happens at night
Say Wash Rig 2 starts moving at 1:40 AM. Its crew lead gets:
LoadoutGuard: Is Wash Rig 2 moving with you? Reply YES or NO. - Tally
- YES (or It's me in the app): that's settled, and nobody asks about that truck again tonight.
- NO, or no answer in time: the people you chose get a text and a notification, even during their quiet hours, with what was seen and a map link.
LoadoutGuard: Wash Rig 2 started moving at 1:40 AM, after hours. Tina Nguyen said it wasn't them. Map: https://osm.org/go/ZSNqyT6Rf--?m Do you know about it? Reply YES or NO. - Tally
The alert in the app shows what was seen ("Moved 1.2 km since 1:40 AM"), the truck's trail on a map, and who was asked. Anyone woken can answer YES if they know who has it. Share location copies a map link you can send on. OK doesn't count as YES on these texts, so a casual "ok" never silences a truck.
Every after-hours text and its replies: What each text means → After hours.
Turning it off for one truck
Taking a truck home, or working late? On the truck (or its card in the trucks list), open the after-hours chip's menu: Turn off tonight turns it back on by itself the next day, Turn off keeps it off until someone turns it back on. A crew lead who answers YES also settles that truck for the night.
What each chip means ("Armed until 6:00 AM", "Off tonight", "Learning") is on Dashboard statuses.
What it needs
It works from what the truck's unit reports, so the unit has to be powered and online. A unit that's unplugged at night is itself one of the things it asks about. Tools that are off the truck overnight, in a shop or at home, aren't watched by LoadoutGuard until a truck hears them again.
